The Yacyretá Dam
The Yacyretá Dam is a 808 metres long dam and hydroelectric power plant built over the waterfalls of Jasyretâ-Apipé in the Paraná River, between Ayolas, Paraguay and Corrientes, Argentina. Although the dam has a maximum power output of 3,100 megawatts, it was very criticized during its construction because of the flooding of the environment, which caused the extinction of many species, plus it costed 15 billion.
