Rock ‘n’ Rock

This report is expected to talk about different characteristics of three types of rocks: Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic.

How are they formed?
Igneous rocks are formed when magma rises to the surface and cools. Sedimentary rocks are formed when heat and pressure join little pieces of rock, called sediments. And, metamorphic rocks are formed when a rock suffers changes.

Where are they found?
These rocks are found in different places. Igneous rocks are found near volcanic activity. Sedimentary rocks are found in the sea bed. And, metamorphic rocks are found underground.

What are they used for?
This three different type of rocks have different uses. Igneous rocks are generally used for construction, but the minerals inside them can also be used. As the igneous ones, sedimentary rocks are used mostly for constructions, but they have lots more of uses, such as the limestone as a chalk. Finally, metamorphic rocks are used as a building and decorative material.
